St. David's is a Methodist church and is part of the Barry circuit which comprises churches at Porthkerry road, Cadoxton, Crossway, St. Athan, St. John at Barry Island and of course St. David's in Colcot. St. David's is one of Barry's oldest churches, having its roots in a mission run in a 1914 - 1918 War Army camp at the Buttrills, and is currently pastored by Rev Alf Williams. The Church has good links in the community and is involved in a variety of programmes such as Sisterhood, Sunday School, Youth clubs, and Bible fellowship.

The church has a growing youth ministry and the children's work is taking new directions and growing in numbers and vision.
